Dr. Saki Bigio

Saki Bigio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA. His work focuses on the theoretical and empirical link between financial market liquidity, credit supply, payment systems and macroeconomics.

Dr. Gonzalo Salinas

Dr. Gonzalo Salinas

Gonzalo Salinas is a Senior Economist in the Western Hemisphere Department of the International Monetary Fund. His research focuses on development economics, international trade and economic growth. At the IMF he has been in charge of several African countries, including Nigeria, and is currently working on several Caribbean nations. Prior to joining the IMF, he served as a consultant to the Peruvian Ministry of Finance, the Peruvian Institute of Economics, Harvard University’s Center for International Development, and the World Bank. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Oxford University and a master’s degree in international development from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Public Administration.
